This is a smart, 15 Step, fully automatic switch-mode battery charger and maintainer. It restores batteries to their original capacity, recovers slightly sulfated batteries, charges batteries in cold climates, rescues drained batteries, and provides maintenance charging to increase battery life. A powerful battery charger with specialized charging modes for recovering severely drained batteries, that will not accept a normal charge and the ability to perform an equalization charge. It comes equipped with a remote temperature probe for optimized charging performance. Suitable for most 12 volt and 24 volt battery capacities from 25-500Ah, such as motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, RVs, boats and trucks. NOCO's battery chargers are fortified with several unique safety features to protect you, your battery and the battery charger. The VosFX processor is a revolutionary smart processor utilizing sophisticated levels of intelligence to alter the charge process based on organic feedback from the battery. The processor quickly and efficiently makes decisions on how to charge the battery without risking user safety or damage to the battery. Rugged enclosure is made from a rugged polymer for high-impact resistance for some of the harshest and most demanding working environments. Features a fully insulated over-mold casing with strain relief ends to alleviate unwanted tension on cable leads. Each battery connection accessory features an over-molded inline fuse to increase user safety by protecting the battery charger from potentially dangerous short circuits. An interchangeable connector allows accessories to be properly mated and fastened with a snap-lock latch. Returns to last selected mode when restarted. My first impression was a bit `spectacle', which as based purely on the physical size of this charger compared to my wheeled charger. The G26000 is rated at 26A (switch-mode), is 199 cubic inches and weighs roughly 7 pounds. My wheeled charger was rated at 40A (manual, linear), was 3,920 cubic inches and weighed roughly 40 pounds.In doing the math, the G26000 is 94% smaller, and weighs 83% less. In other words, the G26000 needs only 7 cubic inches per 1A of power, whereas, my wheeled charger needed 98 cubic inches per 1A of power. This is not an insignificant difference, and clearly shows the difference between new switch-mode technology compared to linear chargers. Now in terms of performance, I still expected the wheeled charger to outperform the G26000, based on 26A vs. 40A. However, that was not the case.
